KCR says Hyderabad will be capital of Telangana state
Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) President K Chandrasekhar Rao made it clear that Hyderabad would be the capital of the proposed Telangana state. KCR rejected suggestions that Hyderabad will be the joint capital with Andhra Pradesh.
KCR said that people from other places of the country live comfortably in Hyderabad and so will the people of Andhra in the future. "Hyderabad is such a place ... such a good society. It allows everybody, absorbs everybody,", Rao said. He added, "In Hyderabad, not just Andhras, but Maharashtrians, Kannadigas and Kayasths from north India live."
K T Rama Rao, MLA and Son of K. Chandrasekhar Rao expressed confidence in the Central Government. "We have full confidence in the UPA leadership that they will keep up the announcement they have made. We are thankful to them", said Mr. Rama Rao. He added, "We are not worried about the developments after the Centre's announcement. The UPA leadership must have thought about the repercussions before taking the decision. We leave it to them."
