Telangana JAC calls off bundh in view of Christmas eve

The Telangana bundh is called off for December 25, 2009 in view of Christmas. This was announced to the press by the Telangana Joint Action Committee leader Prof. Kodandaram late in the evening. The Joint Action Committee will be meeting tomorrow noon to discuss its future course of action.

Telangana Rashtra Samithi chief K Chandrasekhara Rao, speaking to the press, said that a section of Christians have met the JAC at the Kalinga Hall and has appealed to call-off the strike in view of the festival considering it is an international festival and one of the few festivals that Christians have here in India. KCR asked the Christians to pray for the formation of telangana state.

KCR appealed to the police to show some calm and release the people who are arrested under preventive detention. He appealed to the police not to bring un-necessary anger by the telangana people.

Speaking about the attack on Nagam Janardhan Reddy today, he said that the incident is unfortunate incident and shouldn’t have happened. He said that some rowdy sheeters, some of whom are already identified, have taken part in the attack. He said the Nagam is a friend of his and that if required, he (KCR) will personally pay a visit to Nagam. KCR asked people not to use the Nagam-development and go with unnecessary provocations.
