Srikrishna panel report,sri krishna commission,congress andhra,congress rayalaseema
Congress leaders from Andhra and Rayalaseema have plunged headlong in preparing a detailed factual report in tune with the terms of reference of former Justice BN Srikrishna Committee. In contrast to the dim view taken by Telangana Congress MLAs and MLCs about the terms of reference, the Andhra and Rayalaseema leaders see an opportunity to effectively present their case to the panel.
In less than 24 hours after the terms of reference were out, an exercise is on to strengthen the slogan of united Andhra Pradesh. Leaders are eagerly awaiting the committee to get down to business at the earliest. MLA TG Venkatesh who have been championing the cause of backwardness of Rayalaseema said they had always been in favour of maintaining the present status of the State. A report elaborating the injustice done to Andhra and Rayalaseema regions was submitted to Pranb Mukharjee and an updated one will be handed over to the Justice Srikrishna. If the panel favors bifurcation, he will certainly pitch for creation of Greater Rayalaseema, he said.
Dr Shailajanath, who is convenor of Andhra and Rayalaseema Congress MLAS Forum said plans were afoot to consult intellectuals and seek their support in preparing statistics to enhance the cause of united State. With the facts, we will nail the argument that Telanagana has been neglected by successive regims, he remarked. Deputy Speaker N Manohar said that an elaborate exercise had been done while framing the terms of reference and the Panel gives an equal opportunity to people of all regions to express their views and suggest a way out of this situation.
