Osmania University Campus back into tense state

Osmania University is back into a tense state with policemen restoring to lathi charge. Media reports suggest that the situation slipped out of hands when the CI of Osmania University PS has called for the action after students began to move towards Tarnaka as a rally at about 6 PM. The students have burnt effigy. Some students are believed to have been seriously injured when policemen tried to disperse the agitating students. OU JAC Leader is reported to have been injured in the incident. At least two media men who came to the spot to cover are reported to have been beaten up. Even the 108 Emergency Ambulance service is reported to have been not allowed to enter to the spot. Police in large numbers are deployed around Arts College. Rubber bullets are blasted in the air near OU Hostel.

Manikyeswarnagar region got tense after Police and locale restored to stone pelting against each other. A bus has been damaged. A tent setup by police is put on fire. Inflowing traffic at Manikyeswarnagar is diverted.

Congress leader Jeevan Reddy said that police have made the situation tense by restoring to charging on the students and the media.
