Chandrababu Naidu and KCR meets Governor

The Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu was closeted the Governor ESL Narasimhan for nearly half an hour at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday. He was among nearly dozen leaders who called on the Governor and left without meeting media persons. According to a party spokesman said that it was a courtesy call and they had no information on what transpired during the one and one meeting. Sources close said that he spoke elaborately about the violence and law and order problem, especially that attacks on some establishments.

Meanwhile, TRS president K Chandrasekhara Rao who met the Governor gave a detailed account of the political crisis in the State to the new Governor and requested him to restrain the State Government from resorting to repressive methods in dealing with the situation in Telangana. He said that the TRS would not accept that the Centre might contemplate constituting to discuss the formation of Telangana. The committees would only waste time and instead the TRS was willing to depute its representatives to talk to the Centre and speed up the process. He was accompanied by the party leaders who told to media that he hoped that the Governor would act positively but the latter insisted that the TRS help restoration of peace.

During the one and half hours discussions with the Governor, Chandrasekhara Rao brought to the notice of the Governor the partisan manner in which the government booked cases against agitators in Telangana. He said that the government continued to register false cases, but made no attempts to take up with the Centre its announcement to lift the cases in connection with pro-Telangana struggle.
