TDP MLAs express divergent views on Jan 5 All-Party meeting

January 2, 2010

The TDP MLAs from Telanagana on one side and from the Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions on the other side expressed divergent views on the meeting on Telanagana called by Centre on January 5 for the same venue of TDLP office here on Saturday. MLAs from Telanagana termed the exercise of consultations as a poly to delay the process of separation, but their counterparts of the other two regions urged the Union Home Ministry to postpone the January 5 meeting saying normalcy has not been restored in the State.

Speaking at a press conference, TDP MLAs N Janardhana Reddy, S Venugopal Chary, L Ramana and others urged the JAC to convene a meeting of MLAs of all parties at the earliest and suggested the body to ask the MLAs to march to Assembly and handover their resignations to the Speakers.

They sought to know why cases registered against all agitators of Telanagana including students were not withdrawn so far, even the assurance from Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on December 9 and instead the State Government was booking fresh cases including under Sec. 307 even for incidents of stone pelting on buses, they alleged.
