Telanagana Ministers to withdraw resignations only after January 5 meeting
The Minister for Information and Technology, Komatireddy Venkata Reddy and the Minister for Higher Education D Sridhar Babu have made it clear that they will consider withdrawing their resignations only after January 5 meeting at New Delhi. The two Ministers met the Chief Minister, K Rosaiah in his chambers on Saturday and sought permission for the 'Telanagana Vidyarthi Garjana' on Sunday.
Speaking to media persons, Venkata Reddy clarified that he did not criticize the chief Minister personally and respected Rosaiah as an experienced and elderly leader. He said that he was only referring to the discrimination shown by police in registering cases against students in two regions while serious charges were filed against Telanagana students agitators while the rest of the regions were let off.
Sridhar Babu said that the Union Home Minister Chidamabaram's statement about January 5 meeting was clear that the meeting was only for charting out road map for Telanagana and his statement amply reflected the desire of Telanagana people. He had only mentioned about the consultation and not consensus, clearly indicates that the Centre was favorably inclined towards Telanagana.
