Congress YS Jaganmohan Reddy arrested

May 28, 2010

Industrialist, Member of Parliament (MP) from the Congress Party, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, was arrested in Warangal. The Mahbubabad town of Warangal district has all of a sudden turned out into a war-like region barely few minutes after Jagan entered into Warangal region.

Jagan is on Odaarpu Yatra in the region keeping aside the directions from the top brass of his own party and those of rivals. Jagan intends to meet the family members of the 77-odd families from about 72 regions within the Warangal region who lost their loved ones when they committed suicide on hearing the death of YS Rajasekhara Reddy.

Reports say stones are pelted at him by supporters of the Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) at the Vangapalli railway station near Naglonda while he was on train en route to Warangal. Police have recovered a country made bomb from the region and have defused it. Jagan remained to be defiant even after his arrest. He is reported to have said that he will revisit the region once again. He blamed the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) for mobilizing the mob and attacking him at the Mahabubabad railway station.

Earlier the State Government has permitted the Yatra but the Police Department is told to be on high alert. Special security cover is provided to him as he intended to enter into a troublesome region.
