BJP criticises KCR remarks that agenda of Naxalities will be implemented in separate Telangana

September 27, 2010

The Andhra Pradesh State BJP has strongly criticised the remarks of TRS Chief K Chandrasekhara Rao. The Telangana Rashtrasha Samithi chief has reportedly said that the agenda of Naxalities will be implemented in a separate Telangana state was formed.

In a statement, the General Secretary of State BJP Party, N Ramachander Rao said, "BJP believes in creation of smaller states only for the purpose of administrative convenience and development. The formation of Telangana should lead to development, prosperity and peace,". He said that people are rejecting the agenda of Naxalities and Maoists. He felt that the Naxalites and Maoists, of late, are indulging in killings of innocent tribals and CRPF jawans. Ramanchander Rao also said that such statements by the TRS will weaken the formation of a Telangana state.

On Sunday, KCR, at a meeting at his party's office asked why youth would be forced to join naxalism if their basic needs were met. He said the naxalites, "after all what they wanted was solution to economic, social and land problems which the TRS had always supported." He also felt the spread of naxalism will come to an end if a separate Telangana state is carved out.
