Komatireddy Venkat Reddy to sit on indefinite hunger strike from October 2

Infrastructure, Ports & Airports minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy threatened an indefinite hunger strike from October 2 onwards if the Centre doesn't come up with a concrete plan on the formation of a separate Telangana state.

Speaking to the media in Hyderabad, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said that he will sit on an indefinite hunger strike with one lakh people in Nalgonda from October 2. He said that he is ready to resign as Minister and also from the Congress party if the Centre takes a decision against the separate statehood of Telangana.

The minister also criticized the rest of the Ministers from Telangana for resuming their duties, when 29 MLAs have tendered their resignation for one individual - Jagan Mohan Reddy. He said that such acts have proved Seemandhra leaders charge that the Telangana ministers can't survive a single day without posts. Komatireddy said that he will be a protagonist of separate Telangana state and has rejected rumors that he was planning to join Jagan's camp.

In other news, farmers from Udandapuram village in Itkyala mandal of Mahabubnagar reached Hyderabad on padayatra. The group has started their padayatra on August 18 and has touched 72 villages en route to Hyderabad demanding the introduction of Telangana bill in the Parliament. They paid tributes to the Telangana martyrs and later released an open letter to Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy.
