Minister Sridhar Babu urges Telangana employees to reconsider going on general strike

Minister for Civil Supplies D. Sridhar Babu urged the Telangana employees to reconsider their decision to go on a general strike on September 6. Speaking at a press conference in Karimnagar, the minister said that it is the responsibility of everyone to discharge their constitutional duties when the AICC President Sonia Gandhi is out of the country getting treated. Sridhar Babu also reminded that even TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao said that Sonia Gandhi alone would give the separate Telangana state.

Committed to Telangana

The Minister said that all the Telangana Congress leaders are committed to having a separate Telangana state. They have their own political strategy and said that they would achieve Telangana state through resignations. He said that as elected representatives of the ruling party, they have the responsibility to discharge their constitutional duties.

JAC criticizes Sridhar Babu's remarks

Telangana Political JAC convener Prof. M Kodandaram criticized Sridhar Babu's statement to postpone the general strike. He said that it is up to the ministers whether to attend the office or not, but in case if they decide to, it will leave a poor mark on them in the history. He said that they should participate in the general strike for the cause of separate statehood of Telangana.
