TRS demands resolution for Telangana state in Assembly tomorrow

December 1, 2011
Hyderabad

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party said that they will stall the proceedings if a resolution on separate Telangana State is not moved in the Assembly tomorrow. TRS floor leader Etela Rajender said that the TRS legislators want a resolution on Telangana state to be moved in the Assembly during the winter session as done in Uttar Pradesh. Siddipet MLA T Harish Rao said that the TD Telangana Forum leaders should not escape from demanding the resolution to be moved in the name of no-confidence motion against the Government. He urged the TDP Telangana legislators to stall the proceedings if such a resolution is not moved. He also criticized the Congress MLAs on clinging to their party high command when the Congress MPs themselves are not bothered about their central leadership.

Meanwhile, the Congress MLAs of the Telangana region have met to discuss about the strategy to be adopted in the session tomorrow. The brief meeting was held in the Secretariat premises after the session was adjourned. The session is likely to be a chaos tomorrow as the Telugu Desam Party is firm on their demand of moving a no-confidence motion against the Government.

The first day of the winter session proceedings were adjourned without any business in the Assembly today. The condolence motion of Independent MLA N Rajeshwar Reddy was passed. Earlier, the TDP legislators demanded the speaker to acknowledge the no-confidence motion notice that was given to the Secretary of Legislature earlier in the morning.
