Protests at Osmania University expressing displeasure over the Sri Krishna Committee Report

Tension and violence are back at Osmania University after pro-Telanagana protestors pelted stone leading to injury to some policemen stationed there. Earlier, at around 2:30 pm, a group of students, with sticks in their hands, moved towards the NCC Gate locate in the Western side of the campus where security forces are deployed. With students indulging into stone pelting, a lathi-charge was done by the police. Reports say that the students are marching from the University campus and wanted to go to Raj Bhavan as a means of protest against the Sri Krishna Committee report.
A relief bus belonging to the Road Transport Corporation (RTC) was set on fire near Arts college. The relief bus actually has come to tow away another RTC bus that was marched to fire yesterday. A clash between students and para-military forces was also reported. General traffic through the campus was cut off and was diverted through other routes. Six students are reported to have been injured in the lathi charge that police indulged to bring the situation under control. Deputy Commissioner of Police (East Zone) Y Gangadhar said that the situation is now brought under control.
With these incidents, the situation seems to be getting back to a troublesome. The agitators responded in this manner to express their displeasure at the Sri Krishna Committee Report that was made public today and put before the political parties in the all-party meeting at New Delhi today. It may be recalled the committee gave six options for the Union Government to consider.
The TRS said that nothing except a separate Telanagana is acceptable to them. The Praja Rajyam Party however expressed its happiness at the report.
