Telangana Ministers, MPs, MLAs and MLCs threaten to resign if T-Bill is not introduced in Parliament

The Congress leaders from the Telangana region met today at Nizam Club to discuss the Sri Krishna Committee Report and their future course of action. The Congress MPs, MLAs, MLCs and other senior leaders from the Telangana region took part in the meeting.

They demanded the Central Government to introduce and pass a bill on the formation of Telangana state in the Parliament budget session. The Seven ministers, MLAs and MPs from the region who took part in the meeting threatened to resign in the event the bill is not introduced in the Parliament. Minister for Endowments, Jupalli Krishna Rao even went to the extent of threatening to go on an indefinite fast, the very moment if the Bill is not introduced.

The Congress leaders perturbed over the Justice Sri Krishna Report were shocked by the sixth option recommending maintaining status quo of the present Andhra Pradesh. They said that nothing short of a separate Telangana state is acceptable to them. They endorsed the fifth option favoring formation of Telangana with Hyderabad as capital and a separate capital for Seemandhra. The leaders expressed dissatisfacton that the Sri Krishna Committee had utterly failed to reflect the peoples' aspirations. Ministers J Geetha Reddy, Krishna Rao, D Sridhar Babu, K Jana Reddy, K Venkata Reddy, V Sunitha Lakshma Reddy and B Sariah and the MPs Madhu Goud Yaskhi, Ponnam Prabhakar, Gutha Sukhender Reddy, Balram Naik, K Rajagopal Reddy, Manda Jagannatham, G Vivekanand and Siricilla Rajaiah besides MLAs and MLCs took part in the meeting.
