Telangana Congress MLAs and MPs to tender resignations on July 4

The Telangana Congress leaders made a stunning statement today that they will tender their resignations on July 4th.

The Telangana leaders of the Congress party met today at Gthe Gandhi centenary hall of the Nampalli exhibition grounds to discuss on the future course of action. Speaking to the media after the meeting, Minister Jana Reddy said that the Telangana congress leaders are committed to the Telangana statehood. He asserted that they are not after power and to prove that, they will submit their resignations at 11am on Monday.

The Telangana Congress leaders have reiterated their demand that the Union Government should stick to the announcement of separate Telangana state that was made on December 9 in 2009. They also warned the Congress government that people won't forgive them if they delay making a decision on this sensitive issue. Senior Congress MP K Keshava Rao said that the Congress MLAs will submit their resignations to the assembly speaker Nadendla Manohar Reddy and the Congress MPs to Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar.

Earlier, Telangana Politcal JAC convener M Kodandaram met with K Keshava Rao in the morning. Ponnam, Srinivas Goud and Swami Goud also accompanied Kodandaram in the talks with Keshava Rao.

The Telugu Desam Party Telangana forum leaders also made a similar announcement later in the day. The TDP Telangana forum MLAs will also tender their resignations on July 4th.
