Osmania University students indefinite hunger strike

The students of the Osmania University are staging an indefinite hunger strike demanding the formation of separate state of Telangana. Heavy police forces were deployed in the OU campus. The police have also taken some of the students into custody as a preventive measure to avoid any untoward situations. They are checking for valid identification for those who are entering the campus. The arrested were taken to the Kanchanbagh police station.

Meanwhile, the Director General of Police Y Dinesh Reddy met the Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy today. They have discussed the indefinite hunger strike by the Osmania University students and rallies near Raj Bhavan. It is learnt that the Chief Minister has asked him to take necessary actions without creating any trouble to the people.

TDP and Gaddar offers solidarity

The Telugu Desam Party telangana forum has offered solidarity with the indefinite hunger strike of the OU students. Speaking to the media, TDP telangana forum convener Errabelli Dayakar Rao said that if asked they will redirect the Bus Yatra towards Osmania University. He also threatened that the Government should bear the consequences of the hunger strike.

Dayakar Rao threatened that they will seize the residence of the Chief Minister if the Government users force to disrupt the peaceful hunger strike by the students. He demanded the immediate release of students who were taken into custody. He also urged the Government to lift the 144 section that is in force in the OU campus and also the withdrawl of police forces.

Telangana Praja Front party President Gaddar has also offered his support to the OU students hunger strike. He called on the Telangana public representatives who tendered their resignations to take up a rally to the Osmania University to offer solidarity.
