Rail Roko agitations in Telangana region

The 'Rail Roko' agitations called on by the Telangana JAC has begun at 6 in the morning today. The 'Rail Roko' is part of the agitations by the Telangana JAC to press their demand for a separate state of Telangana.
The South Central Railway has cancelled 31 express trains, 51 DHMU, 116 passenger services and timings for 23 other trains were changed. The MMTC services in Phalaknuma, Secunderabad and Hyderabad were also cancelled.
Highlights of 'Rail Roko'
- The Telangana activists are participating in the agitation at Nekkonda railway station in Warangal. They have stopped the Link and Charminar express in Warangal.
- The Ernakulam express was stopped at Kazipet station in Warangal.
- Telangana JAC leaders squatted at the Nalgonda railway station.
- Police have arrested few Telangana leaders at the Chittyala Railway station when they tried to stop the Narayanadri express.
- Trains at the Vadapalli Vishnupuram railway station were also stopped by the Telangana activists.
Bandaru Dattatreya arrested
BJP senior leader Bandaru Dattatreya was arrested by the police while he was on the way to the Secunderabad railway station to take part in the 'Rail Roko' protests.
