Nagam Janardhan Reddy

Nagam Janardhan Reddy is a happy man after his resignation was approved by Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar. Janardhan Reddy addressed a press conference in Hyderabad along with another former TDP leader K Harishwar Reddy. Speaking to mediapersons, Janardhan Reddy said that his approaching the High Court might have prompted the Assembly Speaker to accept his resignation. Nagam has filed a petition before the High Court Friday and his resignation was accepted by the Speaker the very next day.

Janardhan Reddy has suggested the other MLAs from Telangana region to approach the court to get their resignations approved. Revealing his future plan, Nagam Janardhan Reddy said that he would tour in various districts of Telangana to mobilize the voice of the people in favor of Telangana. He said that the acceptance of resignation has given him renewed strength to carry on the Telangana movement under the banner Telangana Nagara Samithi. He formed the Telangana Nagara Samithi in September 2011 soon after quitting the Telugu Desam Party.

When asked about the Telugu Desam Party fielding a candidate in the Nagarkurnool by-elections to the seat that he vacated, Janardhan Reddy said that he wouldn't mind even if the TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu contested. He said that Chandrababu Naidu made a 'U' turn on Telangana and none of the TD Telangana Forum leaders could question him. Harishwar Reddy also urged the Speaker to accept his resignation. He said that he had already given a recorded statement on the reasons for his resignation.
