- Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader and Siddipet MLA T Harish Rao has begun a padayatra to press the demand for the formation of a separate Telangana state. He launched the padayatra after garlanding the statue of Telangana talli in Siddipet. Speaking to reporters, Harish Rao said that the pada yatra will continue till the 21st of this month. District TRS president Raghunandan Rao, district TRS incharge Rajaiah, former MLAs Ramalinga Reddy, Padma Devender Reddy were present. Scores of TRS followers and party workers participated in the padayatra.
- TRS MP Vijayashanti has also staged a padayatra from Sangareddy. She called on TRS party workers and people of the region to participate in the padayatra actively to show the aspirations for a separate Telangana state.
- The State Legislature Secretary S Sadaram has informed MLAs Rajaiah and Somarapu Satyanarayana to appear before the Speaker in connection to their resignations. The MLAs have reportedly told him that they are in a padayatra and could only meet the Speaker on the 22nd of this month.
- Former MLA of Nagarkurnool Nagam Janardhan Reddy alleged that the Congress party is trying to hinder the Telangana movement. He said that the Speaker delaying the decision on the resignations of Telangana MLAs is part of that conspiracy. The Congress party is acting like a dictator on the Telangana issue. He suggested the Telangana MPs to tender their resignations again. It is to be noted that the Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar has rejected the resignations of 12 Telangana MPs yesterday. He said that the government is trying to woo first time MLAs with cash and cars.
