TRS Polit Bureau member detained under NSA

Telangana Rashtra Samithi Polit Bureau member Dr. Cheruku Sudhakar was arrested by Nalgonda police under the National Security Act. District Collector N Mukteswara Rao has issued the orders for his arrest yesterday.
The Nakrekal police said that Cheruku Sudhakar, who is a doctor, has been charged as a sympathizer of Maoists and has provided shelter and treatement to activists of Pratighatana, Janakshakti and CPI Maoists, while he was in government service as a medical doctor. He was shifted to the Warangal jail. Dr. Sudhakar had joined the AP Civil Liberties Committee and has indulged in anti-government activities. As many as 18 cases were registered against him since 2007. Sudhakar, recently led a group of Telangana activists in pelting stones on National Highway 9 resulting in damage of a bus and injuries to passengers.
