New Delhi

The Telangana JAC leaders who are in New Delhi staged a silent deeksha at the Raj Ghat today on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao, Telangana JAC chairman M Kodandaram, BJP senior leader Chennamaneni Vidyasagar Rao and others participated in the silent demonstration.

Speaking to reporters later, Chandrasekhar Rao questioned the concept of Democracy when the statement made by the Government announcing the formation of Telangana state is not respected. He said that the Central Government is testing the patience of the people in Telangana region. He said that the Telangana activists won't resort to violence even though the police are provoking them at every instance.

KCR said that they have been staging a peaceful protest for the statehood of Telangana since the past 11 years. He said that the delegation would meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and will apprise him of the current situation in Telangana.

KCR urged the Central Government to announce the formation of Telangana state without playing the lives of people of the region. He said that the 'Sakala Janula Samme' wouldn't stop till the Government announces a favorable statement on the statehood of Telangana. He said that there is no need for further consultations on the issue and any attempt by the Government to do so is to simply delay taking the decision. He said that the Congress has cheated the people of Telangana several times and that they are not too naive to believe the words of Ghulam Nabi Azad.
