T-Congress leaders meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh

The Telangana Congress leaders have met with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in the morning. Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Major Industries Minister J Geeta Reddy said that they have explained about the current situation in Telangana to the Prime Minister. She said that they urged the Prime Minister to make a favorable announcement on the formation of Telangana state. The meeting which was attended by 11 T-Congress leaders lasted for about 40 minutes.

The problems faced by the farmers are explained in detail to the Prime Minister. The T-Congress leaders urged the Prime Minister to intervene in the power cut issue and make sure the farmers would get uninterrupted power supply. They also wanted the employees of Telangana to get full salaries during the time they participated in the Sakala Janula Samme. The T-Congress leaders said that the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh promised that he would discuss the issue in length with AICC president and Congress Core Committee.

The Telangana Joint Action Committee leaders would also meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at 7pm today. It is known that the TJAC leaders have staged a silent demonstration yesterday at Raj Ghat.
