National Highways blocked in Nalgonda

Telangana JAC has called for a 24 hour obstruction of traffic on the Highways in Nalgonda district. They are protesting the power cut to farmers even though there is adequate water in Nagarjuna Sagar and Srisailam reservoirs. The Vijayawada - Hyderabad, Hyderabad - Macherla, Narketpalli - Addanki and Vadavalli main roads are blocked by Telangana activists.
The police have taken 15 JAC leaders into preventive custody. TRS district president of Nalgonda Narender Reddy was detained at his home. Heavy police forces were deployed at Suryapet, Nakirekal, Choutappal and Kodadi highways.
Traffic on National Highway No. 9 was completely blocked by the Telangana activists. The police have diverted the traffic coming from Krishna district towards Hyderabad through Khammam. The police have arrested TRS and TJAC leaders who are staging protests at Ramapuram bridge. The buses coming to Hyderabad from Andhra region were also obstructed by the Telangana activists.
