Ghulam Nabi Azad says consultations happening on Telangana issue at national level

Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare and Congress in-charge for state affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad said that the UPA Government has already initiated consultations with various political parties at National level on the Telangana issue. He said that the first phase of the consultations is already completed and the second phase would start after the Dasara puja holidays. Ghulam Nabi Azad said that the Congress stand on the separate statehood of Telangana would be revealed after the completion of consultations.
Commenting on the resignation of Infrastructure Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, he said that the resignation tendered by the minister is not made solely on demand of the Telangana state. He also denied to comment on the remarks made on the Telangana issue by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee. Sources at AICC said that it is likely that the Congress party would announce its stand on the Telangana issue in November.
Speaking to reporters after meeting AICC president Sonia Gandhi, Ghulam Nabi Azad said that the Telangana issue is very complicated and a quick solution to the problem is not possible.
