Kodandaram and 11 other TJAC leaders taken in preventive custody
Warangal
The district police of Warangal played spoilsport in the TJAC bus tour to Singareni coal mines as they took TJAC chairman M Kodandaram and 11 others into preventive custody. The TJAC leaders embarked on a bus tour to Singareni coal mines to express solidarity with the employees who are agitating as part of the Sakala Janula Samme.
A case under Section 151 of the CrPC was booked against the TJAC leaders who were taken into preventive custody. The arrested leaders agreed to go back to Hyderabad if let off. The police provided escort to them and allowed them to proceed to Hyderabad. However, they were stopped at Alair by a group of Telangana activists demanding the release of the TJAC leaders. Jangaon DSP K Nagaraju tried to convince them saying that they are not under arrest, but under preventive custody. Kodandaram joined the agitators who staged the 'rasta roko' at Alair.
