Youth Congress leaders create ruckus at membership drive
Hyderabad
The Youth Congress activists of Telangana created a ruckus in a membership drive of the Andhra Pradesh Youth Congress (APYC) as they demanded the postponement of the membership drive till the Telangana issue was resolved. AICC secretary in charge of Youth Congress affairs Meenakshi Natarajan and YC national president Rajiv Satav were left embarrassed at the meeting. The Youth Congress activists from Adilabad, Karimnagar and Warangal threw chairs at the membership drive demanding the postponement of the meeting.
The Youth Congress leaders from Telangana argued that since the political situation in the Telangana region is volatile, most of the members of the Congress were unable to attend the membership drive. They said that their Seemandhra counterparts will have the advantage of enrolling more members in such a situation. The national leaders who attend the membership drive assured that they would bring their grievances to the notice of the national leadership.
