The Telangana Congress steering committee found fault with ministers who resumed their duties after tendering their resignation along with party's legislators in July. The steering committee which met at the residence of Rajya Sabha member K Keshava Rao felt that they need to exert pressure on the ministers to submit resignations to the Governor ESL Narasimhan directly after October 1.

The members of the steering committee opined that if the Centre doesn't initiate the process of the formation of separate Telangana state by the month end as promised, the ministers should voluntarily hand over their resignation letters to Governor. They also criticized Ministers K Jana Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Basavaraju Saraiah for not resuming their duties even after submitting their resignations. Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said that he is ready to quit and the issue was seriously debated in the meeting. He said that the ministers should stay united in their fight for the statehood of Telangana.

Keshava Rao said that they have a strong action plan if the Centre doesn't come up with a solution by September 17, which is the Hyderabad Liberation Day. He said that the meeting by Centre with the Seemandhra leaders on September 12 should be the last such meeting.

The Telangana Congress Steering Committee also extended their support to the Telangana general strike on September 13. They will also celebrate the merger of Hyderabad State into the Indian Union on September 17.
