Solution to Telangana issue soon : Botcha

September 15, 2011

President of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee Botcha Satyanarayana has said that the Centre would soon come out with a solution on the Telangana issue. The APCC president has reached the state after finishing his 3-day New Delhi trip. In his trip, he has appraised In-charge for State Congress Affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad about the current political situation in the state.

Botcha Satyanarayana told the media that though the Telangana issue is very complicated, the Centre would soon come out with a solution to resolve the crisis in the state. He said that Ghulam Nabi Azad will meet a delegation of the Rayalaseema leaders on September 26 as part of his consultations with leaders of various regions in the State.

Meanwhile, the State Government is preparing to take action on contract and outsourced workers who are participating in the indefinite General Strike in Telangana. A meeting was convened by Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha and Minister for Marketing Mukesh Goud in Hyderabad. Notices would be issued to outsourcing agencies not to redeploy the workers who are participating in the strike and abstaining from work. For regular government employees who abstained from duties, there will be no pay for the same period. Provisions under GO 177 would also be enforced.

Coal India has responded to the Andhra Pradesh's request and has started dispatching Coal supplies from its collieries in Nagpur, Bilaspur and Talcher. Since the stocks were low because of the ongoing strike by the workers at Singareni Collieries, the supplies from Coal India will help prevent heavy power cuts in the State.
