Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao reiterated that they would not accept a Telangana state without Hyderabad. The TRS president said that any move to make Hyderabad a joint capital of Andhra and Telangana states once the state is bifurcated would face serious backlash from the people of the region. However, KCR is not against the idea of making Hyderabad a joint capital for a limited period of time. He said that they would accept Hyderabad being a joint capital for three to five years and Assembly and Secretariat can be utilized by Andhra.

A function organized at the Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad to mark the entry of TDP MLA from Kamareddy, Gampa Govardhan and his supporters into TRS. Speaking on the occasion, Gampa Govardhan said that he was frustrated by Telugu Desam Party chief Chandrababu Naidu's two-eye theory of Telangana and Andhra. It is known that Chandrababu Naidu has been maintaining that people of both Andhra and Telangana regions are important to him and both the regions are like two eyes to him. Govardhan said that the Telugu Desam Party lacks a firm stand on the Telangana issue. Speaking on the telangana issue, Govardhan said that there is no alternate other than to allow the formation of a separate Telangana state. Gampa Govardhan earlier in the morning has faxed his resignation letter to the TDP party's office.

Chandrasekhar Rao said that the Telugu Desam Party was playing a drama in Telangana by saying that they are not fielding a candidate for the forthcoming Banswada by-election. He remarked that the TDP has lost its ground in Telangana region.
