New Delhi

The Bharatiya Janata Party has reiterated its support for a separate Telangana state at the National Executive meeting in New Delhi. BJP president Nitin Gadkari said that the UPA Government is indulging in the game of delay and deceit and added that the only solution to the Telangana issue is the early creation of Telangana state.

Gadkari said that UPA government came into power in the 2004 and 2009 elections by winning about 35 MPs from Andhra Pradesh on both occasions promising of granting a separate Telangana state. He said that the people from Telangana region are frustrated with the delay and on complete strike for the last 18 days or so. He said no bus, train or auto-rickshaw is moving in the region.

Having over 9 lakh government employees, teachers, students and even temple priests on strike shows the frustration of the Telangana people, he said.
