Telangana Congress Steering Committee sets Sept. 30 deadline
Hyderabad
The Telangana Congress steering committee met in Hyderabad to discuss and decide on their future course of action. Speaking to the reporters after the meeting, steering committee co-chairman K Keshava Rao said that they have given September 30 as a deadline to their central leadership and threatened that they would intensify their struggle for a separate Telangana state if a favorable decision on Telangana statehood won't come by then.
Keshava Rao has asked the party's leadership to complete their ongoing discussions with Telangana and Seemandhra leaders by September 17, which is also the Hyderabad liberation day. Keshava Rao also found fault with TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao for doubting their integrity on the Telangana issue. He said that all expect one MP from the region were not attending the Parliament sessions. He said that a majority of the Telangana Congress leaders have already quit their positions.
He said that the Telangana Congress MLAs and MLCs are also firm in their demand for a separate Telangana state. They would take an appropriate decision as and when the Assembly is convened, he said.
