All party-meeting on Telangana issue is a political drama says Chandrababu

December 11, 2012

The president of the principal opposition party N Chandrababu Naidu termed the all-party meet convened by the Centre on December 28 as a political drama of the Congress party.

Speaking in Adilabad, Naidu said that the Congress party is trying to trouble the other parties by not resolving the Telangana issue. He said that the Centre is prolonging the issue and creating a political uncertainty in the State and demanded an immediate solution for the same.

Clarity in the meet

Chandrababu Naidu said that his party will make its stand clear on Telangana issue at the all-party meeting. He said that the TDP will respect the sentiments of the people of Telangana. He demanded the State Government to take back the cases filed against the government employees, students and activists during the Sakala Janula Samme.

The Lok Satta party chief Jayaprakash Narayan said that the party will stoutly oppose the meet if it is part of the Congress' political game plan. He stressed the need for an amicable solution to the issue with the consent of all the concerned. The CPI too termed the meet as a 'sham'.

BJP wants Sonia to represent

The BJP state president G Kishan Reddy asked the Congress president Sonia Gandhi to represent her party in the meeting to put an end to the issue. He said that the BJP president Nitin Gadkari will attend the meet if Sonia represents Congress party. BJP senior leader and former Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya said that the Congress should first make its stand clear before eliciting views of other political parties on the issue. He said that the meeting would be another drama he said and added that the party has yet to receive a letter on the meeting.
