Congress in a fix on the names to represent them at the all-party meet on T Issue

Hyderabad

The Congress party is still undecided on the party's candidates to represent at the all-party meeting on Telangana issue convened by the Centre to be held on December 28.

The Telangana Congress MPs are insisting that only one representative to be sent for the meet with a clear support for the demand whereas their Rayalaseema leaders want representation for a third member from the region. Meanwhile, the opposition parties are mounting pressure on the Congress demanding that AICC president Sonia Gandhi to attend the meeting and to reveal the party's stand on the issue.

It may be recalled that the Panchayat Raj minister K Jana Reddy and former minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy met Sonia Gandhi and urged her to reveal the party's stand while a delegation of Telangana Congress MLCs and senior party leaders had written a letter requesting her on the same lines. Amidst this, former MLC B Kamalakar Rao, PCC general secretary G Niranjan, intellectuals' cell chief A Shyam Mohan handed over a similar letter to the PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana.

The PCC president is expected to fly to Delhi amidst this confusion in a bid to consult the party high command over the two names that will represent at the meet.
