All-party meeting on Telangana Issue

New Delhi

The day has finally arrived when the politics of State will take the centre stage in national capital New Delhi. The all-party meeting on the Telangana statehood issue has begun at 10 am today. All the nine political parties which were sent invitations to attend the meeting have confirmed their representatives, who have already reached New Delhi.

The meeting begun at 10 am and is likely to go on for an hour and a half. Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde will address a press conference at 11:30 am after the meeting.

Party Representatives


The meeting is being held at Room 103 in the North Block in New Delhi.

Representatives of Eight political parties have attended the meeting.

Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy has attended the meeting.

Each party is given 10 minutes to express their stand on the issue.

Pro-Telangana activists have raised slogans in front of Chief Minister and Union Home Minister when they arrived to the meeting.

The Pro-Telangana activists have gheraoed Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal in Delhi.

Protesting the all-party meeting, a bandh is observed by educational institutions in Seemandhra.

The Telangana JAC will meet at 12 noon in presence of TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao to decide their future course of action. It is likely that the TJAC will call for a Telangana bandh tomorrow.

TDP representatives Yanamala Ramakrishnudu and Kadiam Srihari has handed over the letter by Chandrababu Naidu to Home Minister Shinde.

All-party meeting concludes at about 11:30 am

K Narayana: The formation of Telangana state will happen eventually. Shinde told at the meeting that the Telangana issue will be resolved within a month.

Raghavulu: Home Minister has taken the opinions of all the parties representatives at the meeting on the Telangana statehood issue.

Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde addresses a media conference and says that the Government will arrive with a solution on the Telangana issue within a month.

MIM - Either keep the state united or allow the formation of Rayala-Telangana state

BJP State President G Kishan Reddy told the media that he urged the Home Minister to take a decision on the issue within a month. He said that the two Congress representatives have conveyed contradicting opinions and that YSR Congress Party has not firmly stated anything.

Protests at North Block

A number of pro-Telangana activists reached North Block and has raised Telangana slogans. The police have taken removed all the activists from the spot.
