KCR welcomes Centre's one month time frame for resolving Telangana issue

December 29, 2012

TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao who earlier termed the all-party meeting fopr resolving the issue as useless, on Saturday welcomed the Centre's decision.

At a press conference, he said that he welcomed the one-month deadline if it was meant for the creation of Telangana State. The TRS chief reiterated the party's stand of nothing short but a Telangana State with Hyderabad as Capital.

Faulting Congress, TDP and YSR Congress for having failed to come out with a solution to the problem, he said that the word of one month time of the Union Minister is that of Congress. He said that the YSRCP did not talk about formation of separate Telangana while the TDP did not seek separate state anywhere in its letter to the Union Home Minister. The TDP's letter over the issue is hollow and lacks commitment of the party on the separate Telangana issue, he said.

Agitational programmes announced

Chandrasekhar Rao announced that the party would launch an agitation during the next one month which would culminate in a public meeting at Warangal on January 30, 2013. He said that motor cycle rallies in all villages would be organized on January 4. Similarly, torchlight demonstrations in mandal headquarters on January 9, hunger strike camps in Assembly headquarters on January 17 and dharnas before Collectorates on January 23 will be staged.
