TRS enforces bandh in Telangana

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is enforcing bandh in Telangana region protesting the Centre's delay in announcing a decision on the Telangana issue and the ambiguous stand taken by the Congress, Telugu Desam and YSR Congress Party on the T-issue in the all-party meeting yesterday. The Telangana JAC has expressed their solidarity with the bandh.

Buses services interrupted at several depots in Twin cities

The TRS party workers and JAC leaders are stopping several buses in the twin cities. TRS MLA T Harish Rao was taken into custody by the police when he is staging protest at the Jubilee Hills bus station. After his arrest, TRS leader Swami Goud and other Telangana activists staged a sit-in protest at the bus station delaying several bus services.

The Telangana Employees Union staged protest at the Rajendar Nagar bus depot. All 170 buses in the depot were halted. TRS party workers also staged protests at Uppal bus depot and Medchal bus depot.

Adilabad and Mahabubnagar

The TRS party workers staged a sit-in protest at several RTC depots in Adilabad. 400 buses were halted in six bus depots across the district. The APSRTC has cancelled 841 buses in Mahabubnagar.


900 buses in eight depots were halted by TRS and JAC leaders in Warangal district. The employees have locked down Janagam depot to show solidarity with the bandh. TRS leaders raised 'Jai Telangana' slogans at Hanumakonda depot.

Tight security at Osmania University

The police have deployed heavy police forces at the Osmania University campus to prevent any untoward situations.

Despite the bandh call, the South Central Railway has decided not to cancel any trains. MPTC and regular trains are running as usually. The Railway officials said that they have increased the security at the railway stations as a preventive measure.

The Singareni employees have offered solidarity with the Telangana bandh today. The employees wore black badges and staged protest at the mines. Buses were stopped at Godavarikhani, Ramagundam etc.

The educational institutions across Telangana were also closed today.
