Senior Congress leader K Keshava Rao on Sunday said that he did not trust the Congress party to concede separate Telangana at the end of the one month time frame that was set up by the Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde at the all-party meet in New Delhi.

Speaking at the New Year diary release function of the Telangana employees association on Sunday, he said that the Telangana issue would be resolved only with the people's movement and when they vote for Telangana in the next elections. He said that it is in the hands of the people. Keshava Rao asked the supporters of the region to target the Congress MLAs who submitted their resignation but withdrew them after having sworn in the name of the youth who committed suicide for the cause of Telangana statehood. He termed those MLAs who took back their resignation as betrayers of the cause because the demand would have been met have they demanded for their acceptance. He said that the all-party meeting was convened to tide over a crisis created by the MPs from the region.
