BJP decides not to contest in five constituencies in bypoll

Bharatiya Janata Party has decided not to contest in the bye-elections of five assembly constituencies in Telangana. Respecting the Telangana sentiment, the party announced that it will not contest in the constituencies which were vacated in support of the cause of Telangana state.

In a press meet in Hyderabad, State BJP president G Kishan Reddy said that it has decided not to contest the bye-elections in Kollapur, Adilabad, Station Ghanpur, Nagarkurnool and Kamareddy following a request from the Telangana political JAC. It is not clear whether the party would remain neutral in the bye-elections or would support any other political party.
