TRS seeks CPI support in bye-elections

Despite being busy with nominations and campaigning for the forthcoming bye-elections, the TRS party is making every effort to get the support of the left parties in the Telangana region to ensure its victory. TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao has met with the CPI leaders at the later's party office in Magdoom Bhavan, Hyderabad. KCR has requested the support of CPI in the forthcoming bye-elections.

Chandrasekhar Rao and CPI State Secretary K Narayana has addressed the reporters jointly after their meeting. Speaking to the media, KCR said that the purpose of his visit to congratulate Narayana on getting re-elected for the third time as CPI's state secretary. He said that CPI is a party that always supported the Telangana statehood and that TRS wants to work with them to realize the common goal of Telangana statehood. KCR said that they requested for the support of CPI in the bye-elections. A decision on whether to support TRS would be taken after discussing with the party's national leaders. KCR expressed confidence that they would get the full support of CPI.

The Bye-elections would be held in seven assembly constituencies on March 18, 2012.
