126 nominations filed for bye-elections

The nomination filing process for the bye-elections in seven assembly constituencies due to be held next month ended today. As many as 126 nominations are filed for the elections. Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwarlal shared the details about the nominations with the media today. The following is the count of nominations that were filed.

Speaking with the media, the CEO said that not more than Rs. 16 lakh can be spent for campaigning purpose in the bye-elections. As many as 1660 polling centres will be setup for conducting the elections. The Election Commission has identified 477 locations as sensitive and 427 centres are identified as most sensitive. The polling process will be video taped at every booth. Bhanwarlal said that Rs. 2.5 crore, presumed for use in the elections, was already seized so far.
