No fixed time frame for resolution of Telangana issue says CM

Speaking at a press conference on Saturday, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy said that the Congress party would give a clarity and will be the first to take the call on separate Telangana issue. He said that the party central leadership is already eliciting opinions of different parties in this direction.

Kiran Kumar Reddy said that their central leadership is already holding talks with different groups and added that the issue is a continuous process. Stating that there is no fixed time frame on the announcement of a decision, he said that the Telangana agitation has been on since 1956. He said that the situation in 1969 is much more serious than the present one.

On Telangana March

On the issue of Telangana March on September 30, the Chief Minister has once again appealed to the Telangana political parties and the Telangana Joint Action Committee to call off the event in view of Ganesh Immersion on 29th and 30 and the Conference of Parties (CPP-11) that would begin on October 2, 2012. He said that the conference is a prestigious one and for the state and any disruption would severely damage the reputation of Hyderabad. Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy is persuading the TJAC to call off the March, he said.
