Group of citizens request President of India on Telangana March

A delegation of pro-Telangana organizations on Monday appealed the AP Government to allow the Telangana March to go as scheduled.

In a letter addressed to the President to India Pranab Mukherjee, representatives of eminent and concerned citizens of Hyderabad, Telangana Development Forum and Senior Citizens Association appealed to ensure that the democratic rights of the people of the region are protected.

Supporting the demand for separate statehood for Telangana, they appealed him to see that the Andhra Pradesh government does not resort to oppressive measures for the Telangana March. They said that the Telangana March which is peaceful in nature should not be viewed as a threat to the law and order situation in the State. The signatories to the letter include former Supreme Court judge B Sudarshan Reddy, former member of the Planning Commission of India CH Hanumantha Rao, former chairman of the National Minorities Commission Sardar Ali Khan, former secretary to Prime Minister KR Venugopal Rao and eminent scientist PM Bhargava.
