Telangana March would be staged at any cost, says Kodandaram

September 24, 2012

The Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) has decided to go ahead with the Telangana March on September 30 as scheduled unless a clear announcement from the Congress on the Telangana issue emerges. They rejected the appeal made by the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and his colleagues to postpone the Telangana March in view of Ganesh immersion and COP-11 meet.

The TJAC Chairman Prof. M Kodandaram assured that the March would be peaceful unlike what happened in the last time and requested the Government not to create any hurdles. The TJAC will wait for the permission from the government although a formal letter would be sent to the authorities, he said.

He added that the Telangana March would be held at any cost irrespective of the permission and wanted to show case the strength of the forty million Telangana people who are aspiring for a separate State. Reiterating their stand on the resignations of the Ministers and MLAs from the region, he renewed the deadline set forth for the resignations. Kodandaram said it is for the ministers to decide whether to join the agitation by submitting their resignations to their respective posts or remain independent.
