BJP begins three day dharna in New Delhi for separate Telangana

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had begun its three day dharna at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Monday demanding the separate statehood of Telangana. The protests are led by BJP State president G Kishan Reddy.

Member of Parliament Rajnath Singh inaugurated the dharma which was participated by hundreds of party workers from the State. The BJP promised that it would announce the formation of Telangana state within six months if the party comes to power in the next general election.

Assures support to Telangana Bill

Rajnath Singh said that BJP would support the UPA led government if a bill on Telangana state is placed in Parliament. While welcoming the formation of the second States Reorganisation Commission (SRC), he said that it is not necessary for the formation of Telangana State.

The protests would be attended by party national leaders including LK Advani, Venkaiah Naidu and Sushma Swaraj.
