Deputy Chief Minister Rajanarasimha threatens to resign

Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha condemning the arrests of Telangana activists in the Telangana March went to the extent of quitting for the Telangana cause. Ministers K Jana Reddy and Basavaraju Saraiah met the Deputy Chief Minister to discuss the latest situation arising out of the arrests and they alleged that the government has gone back on its word to allow the march peacefully. Jana Reddy who played a key role in getting the permission said that time has come to decide whether to stay with the people or with the party.

Speaking to media, Rajanarasimha said that there will no turning back once they tender their resignations.

Congress MPs stage protest, gets arrested

The Congress MPs from the Telangana region held a protest at the Chief Minster’s camp officer when they were prevented from meting the Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy. MPs Madhu Yashki Goud along with others were arrested and shifted to the Shamshabad Police station.

Tension on Necklace Road

The entire venue on the Banks of Hussain Sagar Lake is completely packed with thousands of Telangana activists in the evening. The agitators were seen clashing with the police when obstructed to move towards the venue. Police fired teargas shells to disperse the crowd who tried to remove barricades.

Two police vehicles burnt

In the clash between the police and the agitators, two police vehicles were burnt at People’s Plaza in Necklace Road. The agitators also burnt a media vehicle. Telangana JAC convener Prof. M Kodandaram appealed the agitators not to attack the media vehicles.

Police obstruct MP Vijaya Shanti

The police have obstructed the TRS MP Vijayashanti at Khairatabad who is proceeding towards Necklace Road to participate in the march.

Telangana Naagara Samithi president Nagam Janardhana Reddy said that the the circumstances show that there is Governors' rule in the State and said that it is a shame on the part of the Chief Minster for not meeting with his own party MPs.
