Telangana March Begins

Thousands of Telangana protagonists are reaching the Necklace Road in Hyderabad to participate in the Telangana March. The rally is permitted from 3 pm till 7 pm. Tension prevailed in the city as the police forces are alert to prevent any untoward situation. TRS party workers are taking out a rally from various parts of the city to the Necklace Road. Police have arrested the Ministers and MPs of Telangana.

Thousands reach Necklace Road

Thousands of Telangana activists have reached the Necklace road to participate in the Telangana March. Several others are still reaching the venue from various parts of the Telangana region.

Director General of Police V Dinesh Reddy is conducting an aerial survey at the Necklace Road.

Electricity employees have taken out a rally from Mint compound. They staged rasta roko at Khairatabad junction.

Telangana advocates take out a rally from Indiramma Park.

The rally by Muslims was stopped by the police at Charminar.

Police fire six rounds of tear gas at the venue.

Lathi charge at the Secretariat where thousands of protesters have reached. Several were injured in the lathi charge and tear gas firing. Media personnel injured in the incident.

Barricades destroyed by the protesters at Buddha bhavan.

Tension at IMax Theatre

About 400 Telangana protagonists are staging dharna at the IMax theatre near Necklace Road alleging that the police are not allowing them to go towards Necklace Road. Police resort to lathi charge.

Tension prevails at Osmania University

Tension prevailed at Osmania University in Hyderabad as students clashed with the police. The students were stopped at the gate of the University when they tried to take out a Motorcycle rally to the venue. They raised slogans of 'Jai Telangana' and removed barricades. When the police tried to stop them, the students pelted stones at the police personnel. The police fired teargas shells at the students.

The police argued with the students saying that permission was given only for the march on the Necklace Road and not for any other rally in the city.

Activists of the CPI-ML New Democracy were also prevented from taking out a rally from Secunderabad Clock Tower. The New Democracy politicians storm into the Janagama Police Station in Warangal. About 300 party workers including Potu Ranga Rao were arrested by the police.

Teargas shells fired at OU Campus Ladies Hostel

The Police have fired teargas shells into the Ladies hostel in Osmania University. They chased away protesters who went into the hostel for shelter. The police personnel even stormed into the hostel. The hostel rooms are filled with smoke. Students protest the police action and demand action to be taken against the responsible by Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy.

Telangana Ministers arrested

The Six Congress ministers from the Telangana region and former Rajya Sabha member K Keshava Rao were taken into custody as a preventive arrest by the police. The MPs and MLAs have protested the arrest of Telangana activists earlier. The Ministers were prevented from participating in the Telangana March.

Keshava Rao lashed out against the government saying that it is a disgrace that the ruling party leaders are arrested. MP Palvai also said that the arrests are unfortunate. K Jana Reddy is allowed by the police to meet Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha. The Deputy Meeting along with Saraiah has met Jana Reddy at the later's residence.

Damodar Raja Narasimha threatened the government that he is ready to resign for the Telangana cause.

The MPs of Telangana region were released initially and were arrested again following a dharna staged by the MPs. They were shifted to the Shamshabad Police Station.

Rally from Telangana Bhavan

The TRS leaders and party workers took out a rally from Telangana Bhavan to the Necklace Road. TRS MLA K Taraka Rama Rao and MP Vijayashanti are leading the rally. KTR warned the government that they will stop the international meet on October 1 if the government continues to create hindrances to the Telangana March.

Vijayashanti said that they are determined to achieve the Telangana state. K Taraka Rama Rao said that the government is anti-Telangana and that has been proved by the hinderances they are causing to the Telangana March. He warned that the government should blame the responsibility for any violence during their peaceful rally.

Siddipet MLA T Harish Rao has taken out a rally in 200 vehicles from Siddipet constituency.

Telangana Jagruti Samiti president K Kavitha has taken out a rally from the Clock Tower in Secunderabad. She has called on the Telangana activists to continue the demonstrations till they achieve the separate statehood of Telangana. Kavitha urged the police not to create any trouble to their peaceful march.

The bike rally taken out by the TRS party workers were stopped by the police. They fire teargas shells to chase away the protesters.

Public Transportation affected

Prohibitory orders are imposed in Hyderabad. Public transportation including Bus and train services are severely affected. The cinema halls in the city were also shut down. All the major roads in Hyderabad are crowded with Telangana protagonists who are trying to reach the venue at the Necklace Road. Rasta Rokos are staged at several places.
