Kodandaram declares Telangana March a success

The Telangana March that ended in the midnight on Sunday was declared a success by TJAC chairman Prof. M Kodandaram. Though, the government has only allowed for the March from 3pm till 7pm, the Telangana protagonists did not leave the venue and said that they will stage the demonstration through the night condemning the use of police force on their peaceful march. The day has been marred with several violence acts with students pelting stones at the police, and the police lobbing tear gas shells, water cannons against the protesters.

The demonstration had to end in the midnight due to rain. Addressing the huge gathering which stay put at the venue in the night, Kodandaram said that the Telangana JAC will announce the future course of action on Monday. They will stage demonstration at the Indira Park from October 2 onwards, he said. Aside from demonstrations, the Telangana JAC leaders will also stage hunger strikes and the dates of the same will be announced soon. He laid the responsibility of the Telangana state formation on the shoulders of Ministers.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy and Director General of Police V Dinesh Reddy apprised the Chief Minister on the incidents of the day. The meeting was held late in the night at the CM's camp office.

The Telangana Students JAC has called for a bandh on Monday, despite the international convention that is due to be held in Hyderabad tomorrow.
