The Delhi police registered a case against the BJP party workers who were alleged to have been indulged in violence during a protest for separate Telangana from Jantar Mantar to Parliament House. It may be recalled that the state unit of the BJP party organized a three day protest from September 3rd. BJP State president G Kishan Reddy staged a hunger strike. The protests were attended by BJP senior leaders including Sushma Swaraj and LK Advani. The police had to use water cannon and teargas shells to control the mob during the rally.

Cases were filed against the party workers who violated the prohibitory orders under sections 186, 188 and 353 of the IPC.

More than 1000 activists crossed the first barricade and moved towards the second despite warning of violation of the prohibitory orders. Some of the protesters without adhering to police warnings moved towards the third barricade where the police used water cannons and teargas shells. Some of the activists courted arrest while some had entered into a scuffle with the police.
