The CPI(M) State Secretary BV Raghavulu said on Sunday while addressing a press conference that the passage of Telangana Bill in Parliament is certain in the light of the announcement made by the ruling UPA and the main Opposition BJP for separate Telangana State. He said that simple majority is enough for passage of the bill and the UPA-BJP collaboration offers enough numerical strength to pass the Bill inspite of the resignation threats by Congress and TDP MPs from the Seemandhra region. He said that the dramas of these MPs were unlikely to hinder the process and dared them to resign from the primary membership of their respective parties. He said that the political parties except his party lacked clarity on the contentious Statehood issue and he made a strong case for exemption to the RTC and educational institutions from the ongoing agitations. He added that it was like inflicting wounds by the people upon themselves if these two key sectors were allowed to suffer. Private operators were making a fast buck by collecting abnormal higher fares from the commuters in the back drop of the APSRTC services are off the roads.
