January 16, 2013

Even as the Seemandhra leaders are gearing up to hold a meeting opposing the division of the State in Hyderabad, the Telangana JAC has urged them to cancel their meeting. Speaking to the media, Telangana JAC chairman Prof. M Kodandaram said that it is not right to hold such a meeting in Hyderabad at a time when there are clear signs that a solution to the ongoing crisis can be achieved through peaceful means. He alleged that the meeting is part of the strategy adopted by the Andhra and Rayalaseema leaders to sabotage the formation of a separate Telangana state.

The Telangana JAC leaders have discussed about the tomorrow's Seemandhra JAC meeting with senior Congress leaders K Keshava Rao and Minister K Jana Reddy. Kodandaram told the media that the JAC leaders would stage a silent protest at Gun Park tomorrow demanding the announcement of the formation of Telangana state by January 28.

Telangana Employees' Joint Action Committee leader Srinivas Goud said it would take five minutes for them to disrupt the Seemandhra meeting tomorrow, but said they would not resort to such an action. He demanded all the political parties and the government to put pressure on the Seemandhra leaders to cancel their meeting tomorrow.
